The Wraiths are a group of assassins who work for the highest bidder. The group was founded by and is led by none other than the infamous assassin Scorpion. How the Wraiths recruit their members is a mystery, however once you're a Wraith you're a Wraith for life. The recruits are sent to a secret training facility where they undergo rigorous training for a year in the art of assassination stealth computer hacking, and a variety of other courses. Those that live to graduate (about 15%) are assigned to a section (5 Wraiths per section + 1 Section Leader). Wraiths continue training on a daily basis.

The uniform is a completely enclosed self contained outfit enabling the wraiths to survive extreme temperatures as well as survive in the total vacuum of space for a short period. There have been unconfirmed reports of hand held phasers bouncing off them, it is assumed therefore that the suits contain some sort of personal forcefield or energy adsorbing material or device. The Wraiths are the most fearless, dedicated warriors we�ve ever faced. A Wraith will kill himself to avoid capture or if they cannot complete an assignment. Starfleet intelligence estimates the Wraiths number in the thousands though neither Starfleet its allies or its enemies have discovered exactly how these assassins are hired, though they are confident they do maintain a base as well as a separate training facility whose locations are still a mystery. The Wraiths blend the ancient art of Ninjitsu along with modern technology, favoring poisoned darts and swords for close in combat, however ranged combat although rare is still used by them on occasion..

The Wraiths are known for Never surrendering and sending section after section after a target until the target has been eliminated.
